Abstract


Through the studying the relations of modernism and post- modernism, Discusses between them through the philosophy in paradox , namely the post-modernism is "the liar paradox" about the modernism. The post- modernism design is the establislament above the foundation of critique abut modernism and thinks that the modernism goes to extremes rational and the extreme function principle, and modernism adopts the rule the geometry physique and the neutral color, Therefore it seriously destroyed and has attacked the development vein of which each country and the nationality. In order to correct this flaw, The postmodernism advocates in the design Arnamentation, Allusionism and Contextualtion. But, post-modernism design still has not jumped out the modernism’s convention. In fact,the post-modernism design in culture and the tradition still were the superficial decoration . China’s modern design comes from overseas,and development time is also short. Therefore the overseas design and the theory are all more advanced than ours in many aspects, Some is worth to study for us. We should criticize study and model, but is not the constantly plagiarism, does this can destroy design’s context. Therefore the study and the model premise are base on the profounded understanding to the overseas design theory. Only through this way ,we can unify the modern design with ours cultural tradition and go our own characteristic.
