Abstract


Fiber Bragg gratings (fiber Bragg grating, FBG) optical communication and optical sensing technology are one of the basic device. Theoretical and experimental research phase sampling FBG FBG research focus. Phase sample FBG compared to the amplitude sampled FBG, and more grating phase parameters can be adjusted in the design, and therefore having a larger design space to play; characteristics, phase sampling FBG exhibit many novel spectral characteristics, and thus has a wide range of application prospects. In this thesis, Laboratory of Optical Communication, Tsinghua University for the first time in the phase sampling grating aspects of a comprehensive and in-depth research. FBG theory of phase sampling, experimental production and practical application, the paper has made some achievements in theoretical research, this thesis phase sampling FBG methods of analysis, and on the form of the sampling function The phase sampling FBG is divided into two categories: amplitude sampling combined phase the FBG sampling and pure phase sampling FBG. When the amplitude of the sample binding phase sampled FBG several new grating structure; especially in the chirped sampling FBG, through the introduction of a certain size in the between every two amplitude sampling phase shift, in order to achieve the chirped phase mask with a design of multi-channel comb filter with arbitrary channel interval. This phase sampling comb filter is not only a simple structure, experimentally feasible; showed spectral characteristics of the tunable fiber laser has a good application potential. In addition, the theoretical analysis of the phase-only sampled FBG This paper presents a new design algorithm, and design a novel spectral characteristics of the grating structure. The phase sampling FBG making a stable and accurate phase shift grating experimental production platform successfully build. This platform uses a method to control the phase shift of the grating in the mobile phase grating during writing template. In this experiment platform based on the use of the same piece of chirp template to produce a plurality of intervals having different channel phase sampling comb filter. Phase sampling comb filter showed a large bandwidth, the channel interval and a flat reflection spectrum. The phase sampling FBG, the papers will be developed into a phase sampling comb filter used as a tunable fiber laser wavelength selector, made the response even with a large tuning bandwidth and power tunable fiber laser. Comparison of production technology and other existing raster, the paper demonstrates that this phase sampling comb filter applied to the tunable fiber laser advantage.
