Abstract


Zhang Zhidong, one of the pioneers of Five Japanese education plays an important role in the evolution of the late Qing Dynasty in Japan education . Zhang Zhidong study in educational thinking and practice as a starting point , the depth of his studying education advocates , and analysis of the process of transformation of its claims . Zhang Zhidong to study the transformation of ideas as a watershed in the Sino-Japanese war . At first , Zhang Zhidong advocates to study in Europe and the United States . Sino-Japanese war, he turned to strongly advocate studying in Japan . He actively sending students studying in Japan , staff and management of the students studying in Japan , graduating and returning students studying in Japan to be the appointment . The early 20th century , Zhang Zhidong Five Japanese policy -makers , and directly contributed to Japan in the final form . In view of the students studying in Japan 's \Zhang Zhidong studying educational thoughts and practice reflects a certain contradiction the one hand , he has to a large number of the rule of talent for the Qing court culture ; On the other hand , he is afraid these students much advanced Western civilization became own opposite . This ambivalence runs through Zhang Zhidong and the Late Qing Day campaign , which also reflects the confusion and helplessness of the late Qing rulers in the process of 'Day .
