IgA Nephropathy is a kind of glomerulonephritis commonly seen in world. It is one of the leading causation of renal failure. The study of its pathogenesis is the most active and plenty field of all renal diseases. As its pathogenesis is not clear, there is no special druggery so far. Many doctors of TCM studied the pathogenesis, differential of symptoms and signs and cure method of IgA nephropathy from the age of treating it by traditional Chinese drug in 80s.This article is divided into tow parts. The first part is theoretical study. IgA Nephropathys Study of Traditional Chinese Medicine summed up the study of the pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment based on an overall analysis of the illness and the patient’s condition, treatment by traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine, the relation of differential of symptoms and signs and renal pathology and experiment by traditional Chinese medicine within recent 10 years. IgA Nephropathys Study of Modern Medicine summed up the study of the epidemiology, pathogenesis, renal pathology, treatment and prognosis by modem medicine in recent years.The second part is clinical research. The purpose is to study the relation of syndromes and clinic, and to conclude the state of an illness and prognosis and to guide the treatment according to the study. According to The Guide Principle of Clinical Study of New Traditional Chinese Drugs of Chronic Nephritis, 53 patients are divided into four syndromes, that is type of deficiency of both spleen-Yang and kidney-Yang, type of deficiency of both liver-Yin and kidney-Yin, type of deficiency of both lung-Qi and kidney-Qi, and type of deficiency of both Qi and Yin, and three incidental syndromes, that is affection of retention of damp in the interior,, retention of damp-heat in the interior, and blood-stasis obstructing in the interior. To observe the relation of the syndromes and sex, age, course of disease, evocation factors, clinical index, pathological parameter and pathological level. The result is that the type of deficiency of both spleen-Yang and kidney-Yang is the mostly seen syndrome. Affection by exopathogen is the main evocation factor. And the main incidental syndrome is retention of damp in the interior. The symptom and pathology of the type of deficiency of both spleen-Qi and kidney-Qi are the best, and the symptom and pathology of the type of deficiency of both spleen-Yang
