The thrombus formation ability and endothelialization of biomedical microcoil for hemangioma treatment are the basic requirements in clinical intervention application. Surface modification of biomedical microcoil can improve its thrombus formation ability and endothelialization. In this paper, TiO2 biological function films were chosen as a research system for the problem of recent biomedical microcoil. Three kinds of TiO2 films were synthesized by unbalanced magnetron sputtering. The structure, component, and micromorphology of the films were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Atomic force microscope (AFM), and Scan electronic microscope (SEM). At the same time, the contact angles of the films were measured. The thrombus formation ability of the films was studied by in vitro platelets adhesion test. The results indicated that a certain characteristic TiO2 flim has increasing thrombus formation ability. Furthermore, the biological behavior of cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) onto different films was investigated by the in vitro HUVECs cultured experiment. The results showed that the endothelial cells on optimized TiO2 flim surface have good adherence, growth and proliferation. On the basis of our previous study, TiO2 films were synthesized by unbalanced magnetron sputtering. The TiO2 film was then pretreated by NaOH solution for activity.Using bio-chemical modification method,Collagen Type I was further immobilized onto the TiO2 film surface by silane coupling reagent(APTE) to form physical absorption/chemical graft Collagen Type I coat .Scanning electron microscopy (SEM), X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), Atomic force microscope (AFM) and contact-angle measurement were used to investigate the characteristics of the bio-chemical modificated TiO2 film and the control TiO2 film. The thrombus formation ability of the films was studied by in vitro platelets adhesion test. The results indicated that the bio-chemical modificated TiO2 flim has increased thrombus formation ability. Furthermore, the biological behavior of cultured human umbilical vein endothelial cells (HUVECs) onto different films was investigated by the in vitro HUVECs cultured experiment. The results showed that the endothelial cells on the bio-chemical modificated TiO2 flim surface have good adherence, growth and proliferation. All these results indicated that surface modifications of TiO2 flim and immobilization of collagen type I can improve biological properties of biomedical microcoil .Therefore, these provided a surface biomodification way for improving the biocompatibility of biomedical microcoil to gain good clinical curative effect.
