Abstract


The regression of individualization and the vigorous development of information industry turn "attention" into the focus object, and the tourism industry, essentially emphasizes human satisfaction, should pay much more attention to the individualized needs of tourists. The application of "attention" theory in the tourism industry will bring new ideas to its development. This thesis analyzes the applicability of attention theory in the tourism industry, and how to implement it effectively. Also, it further proves the feasibility of focusing attention to develop the tourism industry, through the analysis of the development of tourism industry in Dalian. The thesis is composed of 4 parts: The first part is the introduction, it defines the "attention", "attention economy" and other related conceptions, and expounds the current status of research of "attention" theory in domestic and abroad. The second part analyzes the applicability and significance of the "attention" theory in the tourism industry from the demands of tourists, the features of the tourism industry and the marketing strategy of tourism. The third part discusses the changes of business models due to the application of "attention" theory in the tourism industry, and explores initially how to implement it in the tourism industry. The fourth part discusses in details about the development of tourism industry with "attention" theory in Dalian. The "attention" theory is still immature in the academic fields and the thesis combines the achievements of former research with own opinions about the theory, also analyzes about how to bring the "attention" theory into the tourism industry and how to implement it in the development of tourism industry.
