Abstract


Nowadays, the rapid development of the scientific technology is well underway, and the quality education is heading its way forward. It has been discerned that the traditional model of teachers continuing education is far from being satisfied to the new era. It is eagerly expected that something has to be done to reform or create a new model of the teachers continuing education at the request of the quality education.Fortunately, the growth of the Internet provides the teachers continuing education with advanced technology and innovative ideas. The new Internet-based model with edges incomparable to traditional model fits well to the teachers who need to continue their studies. However, the related studies are just burgeoning in our country, and there is a long way to go, on account of which, the new Internet-based model of the teachers continuing education bears with the profound meaning as a widely expected and practically valuable project.The following paper dwells on the topic of "the Internet-based model of teachers continuing education". This paper mainly includes four parts. First, it trackles the growing trend of teachers continuing education in our country, and predicting that the Internet-based model will be the popular one. In the second and third parts of the paper, it constructs the brand-new Internet-based model of teachers continuing education by analyzing in length the curriculum development and learning environment design. At the end, the paper presents the results of the trials and evaluations of the webcourse <Education Technology> developed with the base of the said model of teachers continuing education. The paper holds the belief that the Internet-based model of teachers continuing education has tremendous potential and will play an important role in the future.
