Abstract


Our country has been almost in a long period of social revolution in the whole 20th century, which is continuous and unbreakable, and it has had great effect on the literary development of the 20th century. Broad upsurge of ideological and cultural enlightenment burdened Chinese modern fictions with the heavy social mission. The theme of the new literary creation always has a tight relation with the main current of times. Although the tradition of the literary masterpiece is the mainstream, it does not affect that Chinese new literature focuses more on common customs and develops slowly on a new way.Scanning the 20th Chinese fiction creation, we can see the tradition to pay much attention to the daily life of common human beings has been existing in a non-mainstream position during a long period, continuous like mountains but slightly like a piece of silk thread. Only in the 1940s, and in the end of 1980s and the beginning of 1990s, the common customs novel had a great promotion which can stand up against the traditional literary creation. In these two periods, Zhang Ailing, Su Qing and Wang Anyi, Chi Li have written many fictions about the common customs, which make great contribution to the tendency of the novel creation on common customs. This thesis tries to analyze the meaning of this tendency through the customary sentiment in their ficions..This thesis is made up of three parts: the first part gives some concepts of citizen society, custom life and woman sentiment, focuses on the tradition of the common customs in the Chinese new literature and lists some examples to discriminate this tendency. The second part, ie the main body, analyzes the meanings of this tendency through the customs sentiment in some authors such as Zhang, Su, Wang and Chi. They have the same feeling with the custom life which makes them have a tendency. The third part focuses on the significance of the custom life creation.
