Abstract


The college counselor is an important part of higher education and manager of the groups most closely in touch with students . The counselor directly related to the quality of college students' physical and mental health development goals related to university personnel training . How competent match the characteristics of the hiring and job counselors, how to evaluate the performance of counselors has become the focus of attention of university decision-makers and researchers . Counselor practitioners are increasingly concerned about the self-assessment , career management and other issues . Once constructed counselor competency model to start collection listed in the constructed model counselor competency lexical items and more competency lexical items through expert interviews . Competency lexical items into behavior description of the preparation of the subject , formed a the college counselors competency self-assessment questionnaire . Further use of the preparation of the questionnaire survey , the survey data for exploratory factor analysis has been the College Counselors competency empirical model . The college counselor competency empirical model obtained in this study is a multi-dimensional hierarchy . Including six dimensions : professional attitude and quality of interpersonal communication and coordination , professional knowledge and skills , self-control , problem solving skills , personality traits , a total of 40 sub- factors . Through faith , validity analysis , prepared by the self-assessment questionnaire has good reliability and validity , and can be applied to a slightly modified for the purposes of the counselor 's own assessment practice . According to the competency model hierarchical structure , composed of a basic level of the index system . Analytic Hierarchy Process for each competency indicators set weight , behavior anchored rating method to assign the level at the same time . Ultimately the formation of competency index system, to provide users with an objective selection of the basis for this assessment .
