Abstract

Equipments need good stability and reliability in modern large-scale production, so fault diagnosis technology of mechanical equipment becomes more and more important and sophisticated. The irrational distribution of human resources that research on complex fault diagnosis technology causes contradiction of importance and complexity increasingly important. Remote monitoring systems provide a solution to solve the above problem. With the continuous development of network technology, two models, which are Browser/Server (B/S) and Client/Server(C/S), have been formed. Both of two models have their own advantages and disadvantages. But the B/S model has better competitive because of the lower cost, better maintainability and less developer workload. The web-based remote monitoring systems become more increasingly. In the field of remote condition monitoring, we have fall behind the other country and developed many systems. From a development point of view, developers think less about portability, expansibility and reusability. These systems are relatively weaker to meet requirements of this field. As a result, much domain knowledge and design experience is not effectively accumulated. This dissertation is supported by a project of developing a web-based remote monitoring system (RMS). A remote monitoring system software architecture (RMSSA) for mechanical equipments has been researched based on domain specified software architecture (DSSA), using a method of building prototype system with models. The RMSSA is described in detail using unified modeling language (UML). The requirements of remote monitoring systems are discussed, and a domain model is proposed. According to the RMSSA, a prototype system has been developed on Microsoft Visual Studio.Net 2005 and SQL Server 2000 using C# language, Object-Oriented Technology and ASPNET, and has been tested. The author hopes that a RMS will be improved in portability, expansibility and reusability using the RMSSA, which can be reused in remote monitoring domain.
