Abstract


The solvent sublation technique is a new separation-concentration method. In solvent sublation water –insoluble organic solvent is floated on the top of the column to extract neutral species from the foam. As the inert gas passing through the liquid, small bubbles are generated by the sparger. They collect interfacial active species or colligend-collector species, which is then transferred into the organic phase on the upper surface of the liquid mass. Then detect those collected in the organic phase. Solvent sublation-a new analytical method is proposed to separate and concentrate organic pollutants in waste water, and this method is used to do with the waste water in a Petrochemical Company, then the pollutants are analyzed by spectrum and GC-MS. The whole experiment is finished with three steps: first, the parameters’ optimization and kinetics of ρ-hydroxybenzoic acid by solvent sublation are studied, the effect of pH of the solution, the velocity of the air, the ion intention of the solution, the time of the solvent solution, the phase rate and different solvent to the solvent sublation are studied. The solvent sublation process obeys the first kinetics, the apparent rate coefficient increases with the increase of the air flow; second, solvent sublation of amines and carboxylic acids in waste water is studied and the sublation rate is at least 95%;finally, the trace organic pollutants in industrial waste water are separated and concentrated by solvent sublation,and determined by GC-MS, the parameters of affecting solvent sublation are optimized by using typical compounds in the waste water, the method developed has been applied to detect trace organic pollutants in waster water from a petrochemical factory, the results show that it is a fast,simple and feasible pretreatment method in water quality analysis. All these works make a ready for solvent subltion of pollutants in waste water. Comparing with other separated methods, solvent sublation technique is possessed of such excellence: rapid separation, large concentration, high removal rate, simple operated technology, low cost and the ability of handling large volume of sample. It is full of great progress in environmental analysis, especially in the inspection of industrial waste water.
