Abstract


The vocabulary is the basis of language, vocabulary ability is one important indicator of language ability. Important is how to better and more effective vocabulary acquisition. This article is to study how to help Chinese students to better learning English vocabulary. This paper attempts to examine the strategy training college English vocabulary teaching role in promoting. Enter college-level students tend to have mastered the most basic of about 3000 common words, and then the next step vocabulary learning for endless classroom learning time is extremely limited. In this state, the self-learning ability and self-consciousness of the learners is very important. At the same time, Chinese college English classroom the conventional vocabulary teaching mode is still the selection of key words, and its Semantic and explain in detail. This vocabulary teaching model from its essence easy for students to produce dependence on the teacher is not conducive to encourage the students' learning autonomy; How can we improve the autonomy of the learner, to improve their self-learning ability? Language since the 1970s teachers and researchers found that successful language learners are more or less adopted similar language learning strategies, since the study of second language learning strategies has gradually become the hot spot of Applied Language Studies. In this paper is to study the feasibility of the introduction of the teaching of college English vocabulary strategy training. The article uses the method of experimental studies, with the help of SPSS software mainly quantitative analysis to study this topic. Shanghai Institute of Electric non-English majors two parallel classes of students to participate in the teaching trials, one as the experimental class, the conventional vocabulary teaching based on the accept the vocabulary strategies based language learning strategies training; another as a control control classes, only to accept the conventional vocabulary teaching. Experiment to learn the vocabulary of the two tests: pre-test and post-test, and collecting the relevant data. Experimental data using the SPSS software for processing. Authors through the analysis of the data found that the two classes of students in the pre-test level of performance, and no significant difference; After 10 weeks of the study, the authors found that the two classes of students have made a natural progression, but the experimental class students progress than the control class; experimental class outperformed the control class, and a statistically significant advantage. Conclude, the strategy training take up valuable classroom time, but the vocabulary improve the performance of a role in promoting. Based on the results of the study, the authors suggest that the introduction of strategic training in the College English Vocabulary Teaching the implementation strategy training, and experience to expand the teaching experiment, in order to better improve the quality of teaching and learning.
