Methods: July 1999 to March 2005 among 112 consecutive patients diagnosed with clinical data were retrospectively analyzed . Results: 89 cases of patients with PA hypokalemia ( 80% ) , all patients underwent renin , the determination of plasma aldosterone , plasma stand, lying low renin activity in normal , upright , supine aldosterone levels were increased. Aldosterone and renin activity ratio (ARR)> 25 accounted for 67%, ARR> 50 accounted for 7%. 45 Routine spironolactone experiment 40 cases the result is positive , 81 routine ultrasound B , 99 routine CT, MRI, 20 cases , the detection rates were: 51.9% , 87.9% , 85%. 58 cases of patients with PA underwent surgery, pathology results were: adrenal adenoma in 51 cases, 7 cases of adrenal hyperplasia . Of which 43 cases were normal serum potassium , adrenal tumors were cured , 15 cases still need to continue to control blood pressure medication . The remaining patients did not undergo surgery had opted for long-term medications to control blood pressure. Conclusions : Plasma renin activity and plasma aldosterone levels and plasma aldosterone and renin activity ratio (ARR), spironolactone PA test is a major qualitative diagnostic method. B ultrasound , CT or MRI is mainly localized diagnosis of PA . Surgery is an important method of treatment of PA .
