Abstract


Objective:To investigate the effect of Yuquanwan on treatment of insulin sensitivity of type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM).Methods:62 T2DM patients were randomly assigned into two groups:comparison group(30 cases)and treatment group(32 cases).Both groups were treated by basic treatment means.In addition,comparison group were treated by Pioglitazone hydrochloride(PGH),30mg,Qd;and treatment group were treated by Yuquanwan Chinese soups,Qd.Both treatment period were two months.Weight (Wt)、waist circumference(WC)、body mass index(BMI)、plasma fat(TC、TG、HDL、LDL)、oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT)、insulin release test(INT)、glycosylated hemoglobin Alc(HbAlc)、homeostasis model assessment insulin resistance index(HOMA-IR)、homeostasis model assessment insulin scretion index(HOMA-IS)、mAlb and 24hU-TP were assessed before and after treatment.Results:(1)Before treatement,there were no difference of symptom integral levels between comparison group and treatment group(P>0.05).After treatement,both of two groups decreased evidently compared before treatement(p<0.01),and there were significant difference between them(p<0.05);(2)Before treatement,there were no difference of Wt、WC、BMI levels between comparison group and treatment group(P>0.05).After treatement, Wt(p<0.05)and WC、BMI(p<0.01)levels of comparison group decreased compared before treatement;Wt、WC、BMI levels of treatment group decreased evidently compared before treatement(p<0.01),and there were significant difference of Wt、WC(p<0.05)and BMI(p<0.01)between two groups;(3)Before treatement,there were no difference of plasma fat levels between comparison group and treatment group(P>0.05).After treatement, TC、TG、LDL levels of comparison group decreased and HDL levels increased compared before treatement,but there was no significant difference between them(p>0.05);TC、TG、LDL levels of treatment group decreased and HDL levels increased evidently compared before treatement(p<0.01),and there were significant difference of TC(p<0.05)and TG、LDL、HDL(p<0.01) between two groups;(4)Before treatement,there were no difference of mAlb、24hU-TP levels between comparison group and treatment group(P>0.05).After treatement, both of two groups decreased evidently compared before treatement(p<0.01), and there were no significant difference between them(p>0.05);(5)Before treatement,there were no difference of plasma glucose、HbAlc and FINS levels between comparison group and treatment group (P>0.05).After treatement,both of two groups decreased evidently compared before treatement(p<0.01),and there were no significant difference between them(p>0.05);(6)Before treatement,there were no difference of HOMA-IR、HOMA-IS and AUCINS levels between comparison group and treatment group(P>0.05).After treatement,both of two groups HOMA-IR、AUCINS levels decreased and HOMA-IS levels increased evidently compared before treatement(p<0.01),and there were no significant difference between them(p>0.05);(7)There were no evident side effects of both comparison group and treatment group,and there were no evident abnormity of laboratory examination both of them. Conclusion:Yuquanwan can decrease symptom integral of T2DM evidently,ameliorate clinical symptom;can decrease Wt、WC、BMI and TC、TG、LDL levels evidently, ameliorate fatness and plasma fat dysfunction states;can decrease plasma glucose、HbAlc、insulin、HOMA-IR、AUCINS levels and increased HOMA-IS levels evidently,thus increase insulin sensitivity and ameliorate IR state.The effects of increase insulin sensitivity and ameliorate IR state of Yuquanwan is equal to PGH,and other effects is better than PGH.
