A Study on the Structure and Group Intervention of Self-Esteem on Emigrant-Workers’ Children

Abstract


Self-esteem, as a vital component of the system of the individual self , direct contact with the mental health of children . In previous studies in this particular groups of children in urban migrant children more prominent low self-esteem , interpersonal sensitivity , social withdrawal and self-esteem issues . This study combines quantitative and qualitative measurements, analysis of the self-esteem of the children of migrant workers constitute a validation to improve self-esteem groups an effective way to design a targeted group intervention program . Research self self-esteem questionnaire to assess the 425 migrant workers children (8-15 years old ) , with 400 local children of the same age contrast . Results: The two groups in the overall self - esteem and self-esteem of the eight structure ( shape appearance , physiological quality , academic performance , organizational skills , peer relationships , talent specialty , family relationships , social status ) , are very significant differences , including family relationships two structural differences in the content of social status . Gender, parental education , parental rearing patterns , negative life events and the groups self-esteem were significantly related to . Self projection material for 54 children of migrant workers (10-13 years old ) and 42 local children of the same age , the qualitative analysis of the self-esteem of the text material , to verify the results of the quantitative data . Combined result of : the children of migrant workers self-esteem covers eight structural content , 18 secondary structure content ; poor performance of the groups of children in the family relationships, social status, organizational skills, academic performance , physiological quality , shape and appearance and self-esteem content . In response to these results , design once a week , for 10 consecutive times , 90 minutes each self-esteem group training intervention programs , selection and set up an experiment group and control group of 15 children of migrant workers group intervention . Intervention process follows the experience of learning the principles of the ring , selective challenge , the full value of the contract , the use of self self-esteem questionnaires , behavioral observation indicators , the feedback of the course , teacher assessments, tests and rankings , writing feedback assessment tools before - and - after - Tracking assessment test results. Intervention results : the experimental group after the intervention self-esteem significantly better than the control group , the experimental group of children with high self-esteem is closely related to overt behavior . Research on the effectiveness of interventions to improve the self-esteem of the children of migrant workers , improve migrant schools psycho-educational environment , improve group to make recommendations.
