As a trace element to significantly improve the growth rate of growing-finishing pigs and feed utilization, Copper has aroused widespread attention and a lot of research. These studies show that high-copper diet can improve feed intake, pituitary growth hormone (GH) secretion, increased the activity of enzymes in vivo and improve the intestinal microbial environment and other ways to promote animal growth. Due to the practice of blindly add, toxic effects of copper has become more prominent in animals, animal production and poses a great threat to human health. Salvia inhibits or reduces the clinical liver cell degeneration, necrosis, liver fibrosis and inflammation; promote regeneration. Therefore, in this experiment, we choose Salvia to investigate the high-copper diet-induced liver injury in rats.50 6-week-old Wistar rats were treated in this experiment. The rats were randomly divided into control group, copper toxicity model control group, low-dose group Salvia, Salvia Salvia dose group and high dose group. After treatment, body weight, organ coefficient, liver function, liver oxidative damage indicators and changes in stress protein HSP70 were observed. The results showed that, Salvia could adjusted the activity of AST and ALT against liver copper poisoning and improving liver function; In addition, Salvia reduced the liver MDA content, increased GSH, SOD and CAT activities to significantly alleviate the liver lipid peroxidation that was caused by copper in liver, and play a hepatoprotective effect. By further studies salvia can promote the synthesis of HSP70 in the liver thereby reducing oxidative stress in the process of liver injury.
