Abstract


With the clinical care needs of The Eye Hospital,this research based on the psychological characteristics of glaucoma patients, to give the appropriate psychological counseling and psychological care, and to establish appropriate psychological intervention program. In this study, researcher used Eysenck Personality Questionnaire EPQ to compare fifty glaucoma patients to fifhy-five normal people, found that the glaucoma patients had an remarkable neuroticism and psychoticism than the normal people. Use Correlation Analysis to measure the relationship between the Eysenck personality questionnaire and the Symtom Checklist90 SCL-90 showed that the glaucoma patient’s neuroticism has remarkable related to the anxiety and phobia anxiety, and psychoticism has remarkable related to obsessive-compulsive. On the basis of understanding the personality type of glaucoma patients, researcher prepares the following psychological intervention to the glaucoma patient. During hospitalization, use the Symtom Checklist90 to measure 34 glaucoma patients.Acording the glaucoma patient’s personality type, researcher give individual psychology consultation to the glaucoma patient, and give suggestions to doctor and nurse. To the glaucoma patient of control group, only give the conventional glaucoma treatment, does not give the psychological intervention.Through the psychological intervention, the glaucoma patient of interventional group has a reduce in the total score and ten factor scores, and have a remarkable reduce on somatization, obsessive-compulsive, interpersonal sensitivity, and anxiety.It indicated that the glaucoma patient of interventional group has an improvement after intervention. This research explored the psychological intervention procedure which suited the clinical use, including recording demographic data, establishing psychological files of glaucoma patients, counseling, psychological care, and assesing of the impact, and elaborated how to develop individual psychology consultation in the clinical glaucoma patient, and to propose the strategy and the method to the different psychological feature glaucoma patient.
