Abstract


In the history of African American Literature , Langston Hughes, and Amill . Baraka enjoy three things in common: they both love literature , obsessed with music , full of dreams . So , Hughes and Baraka in their literary works to show their own love of African-American music , enjoy the pursuit of the dream of a happy life for all African Americans . Hughes , as the blues and jazz as one of the most distinguished African-American art form . He believes such a happy and sad music embodies the essence of life of the African-American people . As one of the most famous jazz poet , Hughes used his verse to explain his feelings and understanding of jazz . In addition , in the Harlem Renaissance , Hughes spared no effort to promote the African-American art , to encourage the younger generation of African-American artists . Hughes important impact on the view of jazz music and its artistic function of Baraka . Baraka inherited his literary career development view of Hughes . He systematically analyze the importance of the blues and its fundamental role in the lives of African Americans . Describe their dreams through literature and Hughes , firm in its belief that different , Baraka actively involved in the Black Arts Movement , and efforts to achieve his dream . Hughes committed for African-Americans to establish a co- blacks , whites as a new self Baraka continue to reject his white self, trying to defend his black identity in his life very contentious . In summary, Hughes 's cultural heritage impact Baraka Baraka through his life exploring the development of literature and life view of Hughes . This thesis is based on in-depth analysis of the African-American literary history and literary works of the two writers of the above topics .
