Abstract


Verbal communication as an encoding and decoding information, translation studies often require certain theoretical models to support. Relevance Theory and adaptation theory is one of two that have strong explanatory power mode. Although these two theories on pragmatic study made outstanding contributions to any single application and can not provide enough convincing and satisfactory explanation for the translation process. Therefore, the integration of these two theories associated adaptation theory as the development of a more comprehensive mode of verbal communication. This article will conform to the associated mode as the basis of the theoretical framework. Associated conform model is established with Sperber and Wilson's relevance theory as well as based on Verschueren's Adaptation Theory. It is a cross-cultural theory translator. In the theoretical framework, the translation is a two-way process of communication.
