Since 1970s, the solar photovoltaic technologies have developed increasingly. After 30 years of effort, PV industry has stepped in a new stage of rapid development. The utilization of solar energy has been spread to most countries and districts. In China, Photovoltaic industry is discussed at the level of a strategic industry policy for the future. Chinese PV industry has played on an important role in global solar panels market. China produced solar modules with an output of 13 GW which represents about half of the global production and which more than 90% is exported in 2010. The rapid development of the world’s demand of solar energy, contributed to the rise of China’s solar PV industry. The most important advantage which Chinese PV companies have in international competition is the cost and product advantages, while the most weakness is brand advantages losing. The domestic photovoltaic enterprises are facing more and more difficult situation in global market.In this thesis, the research is mainly concentrated on brand internationalization of YGE Corporation which is a leading PV Corporation in China. Discussing YGE Corporation’s history and background of brand internationalization, analyzing characteristic sports marketing, summing up some experience in brand internationalization, drawing several suggesting conclusions. At same time, those valuable experiences and lessons summed up here can help Chinese PV Corporations to improve its execution ability of brand internationalization.This thesis contains the following main parts. Firstly, topics of research background, goal and methods were showed in the first chapter. Secondly, interpreting brand internationalization theory and motivation, illustrating the state of brand global competition. Thirdly, exploring global competition of PV industry, YGE business model and product structure, describing YGE brand internationalization development process. Fourthly, analyzing background and elements. Summarizing and evaluating brand internationalization strategies in YGE brand internationalization process. Fifthly, poisoning brand development goals, making appropriate recommendations for YGE brand entering global PV markets.
