Abstract

The history develops up to today, since the development of science and technology, the prosperity ofsociety, the booming of information and the upgrading of communication will become the inevitable socialdevelopment, chorography revision is the necessary request of social development. Historically, everyrevision climax appeared after the establishment of a new dynasty, or in the period of social stability andeconomic development. Especially after the chorography becoming official press, government identityand material support came to be the important condition for the existence of chorography. Revision inflourishing ages has become a kind of historical phenomenon. At present, the first session of socialist newlocal Chronicles compilation task have been completed, the work of a new round of revision has started andexpanded. Thorough theoretical research, especially the studies of the management of local Chronicleshas the great significance to the massive government revision of provincial, city and county. At the sametime, on the basis of the management of the first round of revision, the management level of the localChronicles has been enhanced, which undoubtedly has the important practical significance to effectivelyimproving the quality of the second round of revision.The paper starts from the definition of related concepts, and briefly summarizes the China’s tworounds of chorography revision. First, clear the basic concepts such as the chorography, local Chronicles,socialist new local Chronicles, the revision, the first round of revision and the second round of revision. Then clear the concepts of revision management and the management of local Chronicles mentioned in thepaper. On the basis of understanding the related concepts clearly, two rounds of revision work of ourcountry has been preliminarily summarized. In the first round of socialist new local Chronicles compilationwith support from the Party and state leaders, through unremitting efforts, a new situation of thechorography work has been created. Entering the21st century, the second round of revision work is in fullswing. In the first round of revision, the local Chronicles management outstood the organizationestablishment, chorography planning formulation and construction of professional teams. Revision workgradually institutionalized and standardized.Through combing the30years of first round of revision, and more than10years of second rounds ofrevision, the paper analyzes the new situation and task faced by the second round of revision, as well as thenecessity to strengthen the management of local Chronicles. The requirement of the development of thelocal Chronicles itself, the challenges putting forward to local Chronicles by economic and socialdevelopment, the push of information technology and the urgency of revision in accordance with the law,all ask us to further strengthen the management of local Chronicles.With the second round of revision work in full swing, the existing problems of socialist new localChronicles compilation are increasingly exposed. In terms of the quality and social impact of the officialpress, traditional local Chronicles is the official attention, has the high use value, but the academicevaluation is not high. The "political" tendency of local Chronicles compilation was the main problems existing in the prophase of the first round of revision. In terms of local Chronicles management, theachievement of first round revision was plentiful. The revision system of "party committee leadership,government sponsor, all levels of local Chronicles editorial committee implementation" was formed. Andthen the requirements "one into, five in place" was put forward. Many successful experiences wereexplored. On the other hand, in local Chronicles management, there are following problems such as,practice is ahead of its theory; theory is obviously insufficient; how to implement the revision according tolaw and how to integrate theory with practice and etc.Combined with the new situation of local Chronicles management, keeping up with the requirements ofthe times, basing on the solution of various problems, the author puts forward his own countermeasuresand suggestions. First of all, summarize the experiences of local Chronicles management in the first roundof revision, and carry forward the good experiences and traditions. Secondly, implementation of revisionaccording to law should conform to law, regulation of organization, and institution of compilation. Next todeal with the relationship between revision of government and academic independence, the author think itis important to adhere to the academic nature of local Chronicles and the pursuit the objectivity. Then touse modern management theory to management innovation, improving local Chronicles optimizationmanagement level.
