Abstract


The study chose 401 middle school students randomly and used BSRI and SAS-A as research tools, combined with the Self-construal Scale for middle school students. With the help of SPSS and LISREL statistical software, the main features of the youth in self-construal, gender roles and social anxiety are analyzed. We did an exploratory investigation and discussed the influence of the youth self-construals and gender roles on social anxiety.The results show that:(1) The revision of the Self-construal scale for middle school students can serve as a further research tool on middle school students self-construal study. (2)There are significant differences in Youth self-constructs of gender, age, grade, and so, but is "one child or not "dimension is no significant difference in terms. (3)Youth self-construal in the different gender roles are significant differences, which masculine express more independent self, feminine express more interdependent self, androgynous are reflected in two dimensions, no differentiation is manifested not obvious. (4) Overall, young people with independent self-construal was significantly negatively correlated with social anxiety, and interdependent self-construal one was significantly positively correlated. (5)Youth on gender roles in social anxiety were significantly different, which scored the lowest level of masculine and feminine scores highest. (6) The relationship among the three, the Youth various dimensions of Self-construals and gender roles can predict social anxiety.
