Abstract


Alice Walker is a greater impact on the African American women writers. She deeply the impact of feminism, the struggle for racial equality, women's liberation as a lifelong career. Most of the stories of her characters are commenced in the Southern United States, Georgia and Mississippi. Theme by American culture and history of southern black women described them struggle for equal status and independent self. Her works vividly about black women love and hate, suffering and joy. Walker's masterpiece, \Been published, the novel that caused great concern of literary criticism, and for many years been a reader favorite. Book form, content and theme, also appeared in a large number of highly insightful study. This paper attempts to explore spontaneous awakening process of black women, and they seek the road to liberation from the point of view of African cultural traditions unique to black women. This article will be in-depth analysis of the double oppression suffered by black women to reveal the factors that hinder black women awakening and liberation. The accompanying double oppression the double consciousness led to the awakening of the black women and the liberation of the road particularly complex. By analysis of this complex struggle, the journey of black women and the changes took place in their heart to be explained.
