Abstract


This thesis explores the United States read the educational development of the historical process , the historical background to the colonial period to the 1970s , concentrated study of since the 1980s , the United States reading education from reason , overview , the main measures and nearly 30 years to American students reading achievement gap in reading scores trend as well as between different groups of students change four aspects of reading education in the United States nearly 30 years of reform and development process . On the basis of the analysis of the the 1980s world political and economic changes in the environment as well as for the U.S. Department of Education generated , pointing out that the process of the development process is a different philosophy of education and strength of the entire United States Reading Education confrontation with confrontation . 1980s , reading education is to become a larger race that encompasses all aspects of political , economic, cultural and other conflicts . This paper argues that reading education reform in the United States since the 1980s , driven by economic and political globalization , and the new institutionalism , the United States to strengthen political , economic and cultural control over the education an important projection , and reading education policy as each kinds of interest groups clash product to promote , to a certain extent on the American student reading scores improve .
