Abstract


To solve the seal problem of high pressure test facility’s bore, a combination of self-expanding seal structure was designed based on artillery bore sealing technology, and sealing performance of the seal structure was analyzed and optimized by finite element theory and structural optimization design method. The research methods provided a reference for solving engineering problems related to sealing. Mainly as follows:(1) To provide the basis for sealing solutions and structural design, test equipment interior ballistics was designed. Propellant and loading conditions were confirmed. The best interior ballistic scheme was chosen, and then the test apparatus chamber-pressure curve was obtained though the positive trajectory calculations.(2) On the merits of the special requirements of test equipment and artillery sealing system seals, combined with the characteristics of the test device, we proposed a new sealing mode and designed a combination of self-expanding seal structure. Sealing performance theoretical analysis was done and the operation principle was described in detail. Finally, evaluation criteria of sealing reliability was established which provided a basis for assessing the performance of the seal structure.(3) Reference finite element theory and contact problems to establish sealing structure finite element model. Make use of ABAQUS for seal structure dynamic response analysis under the action of the propellant gas. Python language was used to make a secondary development of ABAQUS to establish the seal structure axisymmetric parametrical finite element model.(4) Utilizing multidisciplinary Isight and ABAQUS to analyze sensitivity of seal design parameters and determine the key variables affecting the sealing performance. Isight provided multi-objective optimization algorithm to optimize the shape and size of the seal structure. Established three-dimensional finite element model of the optimized sealing structure and submitted to ABAQUS. The results show that the optimized structure sealing performance has been significantly improved.
