Since the reform and opening policy, China’s mass media has also been rapid development, along with economic growth and social progress. The people living in age of mass media, is with a variety of media ties. Young people’s ideological and political education is an important content of education, which will inevitably be a profound effect on the mass media environment. The traditional ideological and political education for young people is facing great opportunities and severe challenges.Based on the basic principles of ideological and political education, we will stady the basic concept, and the evolution of the mass media, and its social functions and characteristics, values, youth access to the media status quo, the mass media environment, the impact on young people and the mass media environment on young people’s ideological and political education,and search out the method of meeting challenges from mass media.In the basis of previous studies, this article seeks to ideological and political education,combined with dissemination of science-related theories, drawing on existing research results of academia, and analyzes the current media environment. in particular, this article studied the teenagers who contact newspapers, magazines, television and Internet media, and then examined the influence of mass media environment to young people’s ideological and political education, and actively explored the coping strategies, and strived to be innovative and breakthroughs.
