Objective:Intracranial aneurysm is the abnormal bulging area of intracranial artery.In the cerebrovascular accident, rupture hemorrhage of intracranial aneurysm rankssecond only to cerebral thrombosis and hypertensive cerebral hemorrhage. About onethird patients with aneurysmal hemorrhage were died before the treatment, and aboutone third were died in the hospital, finally, only one third can be survived. Along withthe improvement of medical technology, the detection rate of intracranial aneurysmincreased year by year. Normally, traditional treatment of intracranial aneurysmincludes conservative treatment and clipping of the aneurysm. With the rapiddevelopment of endovascular treatment for intracranial aneurysms, most of the patientspreferred vascular intervention therapy. Although there are an increasing number ofhospital carried out this treatment for this disease, the postoperative recurrence can notcompletely avoid. In view of this, to reduce the recurrence rate and solve the recurrenceproblem has always been the goal that the neurosurgeons to pursue. In this study,214cases with operation of endovascular embolization had been followed-up. According tothe retrospective analysis of the postoperative radiographic data and the followed-upresults, we explored the significance of postoperative recurrence prevention of theendovascular embolization with high-strength spring coil.Method:In this study,214cases of intracranial aneurysm which were treated in thefirst hospital affiliated to Dalian Medical University and with complete clinic data werechosed for research. All cases were treated by interventional embolization. The128cases in experimental group were treated by embolization of Matarix high-strengthspring coil, and86cases in control group were treated by embolization of GDC coil. Allthe patients were followed-up after the operation, the postoperative recurrence andconditions of affected functions of each groups were observed. Results:There are some comparison with their sex, age, Hunt-Hess and recurrencebetween the experimental group and control group. There was no statistical differencebetween the two groups regarding sex, age and Hunt-Hess(P>0.05). In the experimentalgroup, all of the128cases used Matarix high-strength spring coil were freedom fromrecurrence. Meanwhile, in the control group, in86cases with GDC coil,4patients withrecurrence and3of them need reoperation. The difference on the recurrence of thesetwo groups had statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:By following-up214cases of intracranial aneurysm which weretreated by embolization, the effects of Matrix high-strength spring coil are positively toprevent recurrence. We evaluate more and more high-strength spring coil be used in theendovascular embolization of intracranial aneurysm.
