Research background:With the development of society and economy, the improvement of people’s livinggetting higher and higher. In the world of60%~90%school children have dental caries. In the5%~20%middle-aged adult found some can lead to tooth loss of periodontal (GUM) disease,the proportion varies across geographical regions. In most countries, oral cancer incidencefrom each of the100000population of1cases10cases ranging from [1]. Chinese oral healthare dental caries, gingival problems, dentin hypersensitivity, plaque, calculus, tone andnot-so-white teeth seven problems.As China gradually widely participate in international affairs, fulfill its internationalobligations, the maintenance of world peace, showing great image, our military to participatein international peacekeeping operations gradually become the norm of peacekeepers, the oralhealth knowledge and health behavior also have higher requirements. The data shows [2]: Ourarmy personnel oral disease has not been effective control. Our men are suffering from one ormore than two kinds of oral diseases. Dental caries rate was38.6%, wisdom toothpericoronitis, prevalence rate was13.1%, ulcer of oral mucosa and cheilitis prevalence ratewas13.8%, the prevalence rate is as high as57.8%gingivitis. Suggest that oral disease is acommon and frequently-occurring disease in our army. And, most men lack understanding oforal diseases. At present, our army officers and soldiers suffering from oral diseases are nottimely and effective treatment, filling rate of which is only11.3%[3]. At the same time, withinadequate oral physician: According to relevant data, in the developed countries average1200people have a dental doctor, while China’s30000people can have a name, a differenceof nearly27times, and our army oral graduate enlisted personnel is limited, because thesystem adjustment should not be ignored, the loss of [4] oral health personnel. Through the questionnaire survey, understanding of oral health knowledge and healthbehavior status of peacekeepers, find the problems, puts forward relevant countermeasures, toprovide some reference for oral health care in future peacekeeping officers and soldiers.Study objective:This study introduces several main points which are importance of oral health,oralhealth knowledge,oral health behavior, referencing The Fourth Military Medical UniversitySchool of dental medicine " oral health survey questionnaire ", according to the UNIFIL(United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon, UNIFIL) troops,the temporary workingenvironment and characteristics, combining with literature study and relative theoreticaldesign of the temporary " UNIFIL troops oral health survey questionnaire ". To understandoral health knowledge level and health status of the UNIFIL army, analysis of their oral healthbehavior, find out the existing problems and the causes of these problems, in order to promotethe Chinese peacekeeping level two hospital dental treatment and health care, in order toimprove the UNIFIL army’s oral health knowledge level and their oral condition.Research method:1. Literature study. Through studying the literature about the effectiveness of oral healthknowledge and behavior to mental health and Fighting force,I put forward the hypothesis.2. Survey research. Selected the UNIFIL officers and soldiers who went to Lebanon in2011as the the investigation object of "UNIFIL troops oral health survey questionnaire ".3. The selection of investigation object.5~7months2011,the eighth batch ofpeacekeeping engineer battalion troops in Lebanon, the seventh batch of officers and soldiersin peacekeeping medical team and the foreign peacekeepers to Chinese peacekeeping leveltwo hospital for medical treatment as investigation object, the sample amount according to theexperience of experts from about350people.4. Sampling method.Cluster sampling.Make the eighth batch of peacekeeping engineerbattalion troops and, the seventh batch medical team officers and soldiers and UNIFILcoming to Chinese level two hospital of the United for medical treatment as a cluster samplingobject.5. The investigation content. Reference the " Oral health survey questionnaire " of TheFourth Military Medical University School of dental medicine, according to the UNIFILInterim Force special design,the UNIFIL temporary force oral health questionnaire divideded nto Chinese version, the Spanish version and English version. Investigation of the mainontents include,oral health knowledge, behavior and oral health status.6. Implementation of survey. May to July in2011, two months time is foruestionnaire.Troops of engineer Battalion and the medical team take their collective answerorm, all foreign officers and soldiers to come to the two stage hospital for medicine treatmentere taken randomly form for questionnaires.7. Statistics method. Using SPSS10.0software and MCNEMAR to deal with statisticsnalysis,Statistical methods are mainly as follows, the chi-square test, descriptive statistics.Research results:Take the questionnaire random and anonymous for the Chinese and foreign military whoeacekeep in Lebanon at5~7month in2011, distributed350questionnaires, recovered the38effective questionnaires, surveyed rate96.6%. Among them,299males,39females,espectively of the total number of88.5%and11.5%. Nationality, Chinese officers andoldiers of composition is66.3%.Spain,12.7%.Indonesian,5%. Nepal,4.7%.Tanzania,2.4%.ndia,2.1%. Sri Lanka,1.8%. Malaysia,1.5%. Kampuchea,1.2%and South Korea,.9%.Those questionnaire covers the main coutry where the peacekeeping troops come fromn Lebanon basicly.(1) On the importance of oral health survey:88.8%peacekeepers think that oral health isreat importance to them,10.3%tink that the oral health of people is more important, buthere are still0.9%peacekeepers do not attach importance to the oral health.(2) The times of brushing teeth one day investigation:87%peacekeepers brush teeth ateast two times one day before, no one brushing teeth,13%peacekeepers lack good habits ofrushing teeth. That do not have apparent difference between the peacekeeper in their coutrynd in Lebanon.(χ2=0.66, P>0.05).(3)The oral examination frequency survey of peacekeeper in Lebanon,48.9%eacekeepers go to the hospital to check the teeth at least one time one year before theyoming to Lebanon.51.1%peacekeeping officers and soldiers do not attach importance to theral examination or do not have examination condition for doing that. The oral examinationrequency of the peacekeeping officers and soldiers who are in Lebanon is less than in theiroutry.(χ2=22.5, P <0.05).(4)Brushing time investigation of peacekeeper,78.7%peacekeepers brushing time less than three minutes before coming to Lebanon, only21.3%peacekeepers’ brushing timegreater than or equal to three minutes, and the the brushing time between they in their coutryand in Lebanon without significant difference (χ2=0.84, P>0.05).(5) The oral health status investigation of pezcekeepers,30.1%peacekeepers have oraldisease, and17%don’t know their oral status.(6) Survey about "Do you think that the Chinese peacekeeping level two hospital dentaland health work is still needed in which aspects of improvement?",56%peacekeepers wantChinese peacekeeping level two hospital docters to their camps more.Conclusion and policy suggestion:Conclusion:1. UNIFIL oral health knowledge awareness rate is higher, and help to improve the oralhealth level, but their oral health status deed be improved, otherwise it will affect the combateffectiveness of troops.2. As a result of oral knowledge education and the influence of the mass media, the vastmajority of peacekeepers to be able to do daily for at least two times toothbrush. But there arestill13%(before in Lebanon),18.3%(in Lebanon)soldiers can not do.3. The vast majority of UNIFIL can’t do the oral health examination at least once a year,and even fewer peacekeeping in Lebanon during the officers and soldiers can do this, that isvery bad for timely detection of oral disease, and early treatment.4. The vast majority of the UNIFIL brushing time is not enough, and their oral healthbehavior understanding still remain to be strengthened.5. Nearly half of the UNIFIL have oral diseases or are not aware of their oral healthstatus.6. The majority of UNIFIL want Chinese level two pecekeeping hospital docters do tothe various camps for the rounds.7. Oral health behavior China Interim Force in Lebanon and the affected peacekeepingenvironment during peace-keeping soldiers, infrastructure and food security needs to beimproved.According to the “UNIFIL oral health questionnaire” results suggest:1. We can use the opportunity of outpatient, to visit the UNIFIL for oral health and oralhealth behavior publicity and education. 2. Through to the unit issued oral health knowledge propaganda or multimedia healtheducation way to popularize health knowledge, thereby enhancing the UNIFIL oral healthknowledge.3. With United Nations does not change the level two hospitals available preparationconditions,we can recommended in the preparatory phase to increase supplies ofStomatological Equipment complement.4. Combined with the actual work, in staffing appropriate to tilt, choose a specialtyspecialty nurses or the health worker to serve as an aide for a duty, to alleviate the pressure ofwork.5. Combinative actual condition, seek with other hospitals oral department or medicalstaff cooperation, cooperate to complete oral clinic work.6. Perfect the special work of peacekeeping officers and soldiers and living environment,especially the basic living facilities, with a reasonable diet structure, ensure the soldiers canachieve good hygienic practices.7. Closely related to the development of oral medical service and oral diseases, only toimprove medical service level to improve the oral health of officers and men.
