Objective: To study the changes of biochemical indexes (such as muscleenzymes) of patients with rhabdomyolysis (RM) induced by high-intensity militarytraining, improve people’s knowledge on exertional rhabdomyolysis, in order toprovide effective basis for clinical diagnosis and treatment and scientific training ofarmy. Methods: Through the retrospective analysis of32patients withrhabdomyolysis induced by high-intensity military training and treated in the210thHospital of People’s Liberation Army from Dec.1997to Dec.2012, changes of thecreatine kinase (CK), creatine kinase-myocardial band isoenzyme (CK-MB),1actatedehydrogenase (LDH), alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase(AST), creatinine (Cr), blood urea nitrogen (BUN) and blood electrolytes (such asblood K+and Ca2+) and many other biochemical indexes upon the admission ofpatients were all recorded. The medical history of patients prior to admission wererecorded in detail, including their sex, age, recruitment time, weight-bearing uponmovement, duration time of movement, environmental and climatic characteristics ofthe environment in which the movement conducted and the adaptive training beforemovement and so on, in order to analyze their mutual relation and influences onmuscle enzymes and many other biochemical indexes. Results: The creatine kinase (CK), creatine kinase-myocardial band isoenzyme(CK-MB),1actate dehydrogenase (LDH) and many other biochemical indexes of32patients with rhabdomyolysis were affected by years of patients in military services, time of movement and the adaptive training before movement. For patients withvaried years in military services, the blood CK, CK-MB and LDH value of A group were higher than those of B group, and there were statistical significance between thedifferences of the two groups (P<0.05). In term of different movement time, the bloodCK, CK-MB and LDH values of patients from C group were higher than those of Dgroup, and there were statistical significance between the differences of the twogroups (P<0.01). Under the circumstance that whether the adaptive training was givenbefore movement, the blood CK, CK-MB and LDH values of patients from E groupwere higher than those of F group. And there was statistical significance betweendifferences of the two groups (P<0.05). From the multiple logistic regression analysis, number of years of patients in military services and adaptive training beforemovement were the factors affecting the changes of blood CK values (P<0.01).Number of years in military services, movement time and adaptive training beforemovement were the factors affecting the changes of the blood CK-MB values(P<0.05). Movement time and adaptive training before movement were the factorsaffecting the changes of the blood LDH values (P<0.05). The Cr and BUN values of46.88%patients were obviously higher than the normal limits. The ALT and ASTvalues of40.63%patients were obviously higher than the normal limits. The K+value of18.75%patients was obviously higher than the normal limits. The bloodCa2+value of the50%patients was lower than the normal limit. Abnormalpathological changes were found in2patients from the pathological tissue inspectionsof muscle, liver and kidney.Conclusion:1. High-intensity military training can significantly increase themuscle enzymes (CK, CK-MB and LDH).2. Changes of muscle enzymes (CK,CK-MB and LDH) were affected by years of patients in military services, movementtime and adaptive training before movement.3. High-intensity military training caninduce the rhabdomyolysis and the function lesion of liver and kidney.
