Abstract


As we all know that in vocabulary, the name of one place is a proper noun which be named after the geographical entity of that place including the environment, natural resources and history. Through the investigation of the name, we can often dig into the deeper cultural connotation which hidden behind.This article mainly adopted the research methods language investigation, analysis, classification, statistics, data statistics and so on.Through the study of this paper can be for the whole Dongan places present situation of language and culture,on this basis can also for the research and development of Dongan places provide some guidance functions.This paper is divided into seven parts:The first chapter is the introduction, briefly introduce the present situation of name research in China and the general situation and history of Dongan City. Then explains the content, the significance and methods of this paper.The second chapter mainly analyze the phonetic characteristics of place names in Dongan City through two aspects: syllable and tone.The third chapter makes a more refined discussion on place names in Dongan City. This part analyze the word formation and lexical features of place names in Dongan.The fourth chapter made a brief analyze and explain of the place names in Dongan from a rhetorical perspective.In the fifth chapter, through the place name we dig into the culture of Dongan city, such as its religion, clan, folklore, political culture, social psychology and so on.In the sixth chapter, with the overall study of the place names of Dongan, I point out some common problems and put forward my own ideas and suggestions from standardization of geographical names.The seventh chapter is the conclusion, which makes a brief summary and review of the whole paper.We can learn through the above research:Dongan place names in the speech is given priority to with three syllable and double syllables; In the tone level and oblique tones distribution, mainly connected to level and oblique tones and white, plain; In vocabulary, structure elements of Dongan place names have general noun and proper. From cultural view, the religious beliefs of infiltration Dongan place names, the clan concept, folklore, economic and so on. But there are still some problems, in this paper involves the related problems and the specific solutions.
