Abstract

Hayao Miyazaki is a master in Japanese anime following Osamu Tezuka. After winning several times, he is widely known at home and abroad. Chinese animation is in a period of development, more and more people are studying Hayao Miyazaki to learn the road to success. The theme of Hayao Miyazaki’s animated movie can be summarized as the return of human nature. He thinks about the relationship between man and nature in the film and hopes people could appreciate the natural and be respect for life. In his film, he also tells the story of the growth of girls. He wants the kids to maintain innocence. His film not only has a theme about the return of human nature, the film’s narrative method is regression, too. The beginning and ending of the film are basically the same. The appearance of the characters also echoes with their mind change. Li Zhi, the ancient Chinese thinker, had also put forward "innocent mind". It is similar with Hayao Miyazaki’s viewpoint about the childlike innocent. Hayao Miyazaki has been thinking about the contradictions of civilization and nature, but has not found the answer. Actually the human must continue the pursuit of civilization and progress. Because if you were backward, you would be beaten. Human beings are part of nature, what we should do is not to protect the natural but dialogue with the natural equality. Humans should change the attitude towards nature instead of thinking about how to do trade-offs between technology and nature. We should learn the intentions of the creative attitude of Hayao Miyazaki. Creating animated movie diligently is able to join humanistic concern in the movie and move the audience.
