Abstract


The composition of a picture, in the traditional painting is also known as "Rhyme", or "Business location", but in the modern painting, it is called "composition". It arises from thebeginning of painting, and the development of the law of composition has gone through theprocess from the conscious and simple one to the unconscious and complicated one. The artof composition skills proves to be one of the basic abilities for every art workers. Thecraftiness in the composition art plays a pivotal role for each successful art works. Any kindof painting form, whether it is Chinese painting or western painting, cannot avoid clevercomposition of a picture. Composition is the foundation of all paintings. Different forms ofpicture composition also represents the thought and style of an artist. In order to arrange andintegrate composition, the artist has to understand the theme and the spirit to express, setpriorities and the relationship between physical combinations. In this way, the artist graduallyform his own habits of composition and painting style. The influence and contribution ofBadashanren’s and Pan Tianshou’s painting art is historically profound and infinitelyilluminating, from the perspective of composition of a picture.However, the researches ontheir composition in recent years are conducted mostly from the perspective of macro analysis,lacking detailed interpretation of their representative works. In this paper, the author attemptsto conduct in-depth study of the composition and frame structure of each work according torepresentative works of Badashanren and Pan Tianshou, summarizes the law of art, anddemonstrate the mystery of their composition using contrastive Analysis Diagram.Appropriate gras pand full usage of composition skills will enable the author to express theintention of creation more accurately and achieve harmonious effect in terms of the height ofart aesthetic at the same time.Because the composition relations can have a different effect onthe visual psychology of the viewers, composition, which plays a important role in supportingthe basic structure, proves to be one subject which requires careful study, grasp, and flexibleuse in the process of learning of artistic creation. The arts teacher should conduct long-termresearch on the art of composition based on long-term practice of teaching and creation. Theresearch results will exert an enlightening effect on art workers and the students in art colleges and universities alike. And it is my sincere wishes to arouse the interest of peers in this field.
