Abstract


The teachers’ education ideas is a complex and abstract concept, which has a direct impact on teachers’ educational behavior and practice individually. To achieve the goals of new curriculum reform, we need the change of course and much more revolutionary change of teachers’ educational behavior and practices. The important prerequisite is to change teachers’ education ideas as to change the teachers’ educational behavior and practices. The changes of teacher’s personal education ideas have the certain reality and urgency, both for teachers’ professional development, and for the deepening of the new curriculum reform.This study adopts the four major areas of ideas of education career, teaching ideas, student ideas and ideas on teachers’ role as a framework for analysis, using such as literature research and text analysis methods, with the famous educationalist Tao Xingzhi’s as a case study on the change of his personal education ideas. As for the reason analysis on the evolution of Tao Xingzhi’s personal education ideas, it is found that the prompted causes mainly includes:(1) the volatile situation at that time;(2) the firm belief on the philosophy;(3) summary and reflection of the education practice;(4) keep reading;(5) the persistent passion for education. The study also found that the change of teacher’s education ideas has three characteristics, that is, the process of change requires the integration of feelings; the content of the change is continuous; the result of the change is chain. From the case study of Tao Xingzhi,we learned some strategies on the change of teachers’ personal education ideas, which is definite (1) education values;(2) observing and reflecting on educational practice;(3) active learning;(4) care for students;(5) promote mutual exchange.
