Abstract


Objective: To observe under the hypothalamic paraventricular nucleus (PVN) - the hippocampus Ghrelin projection neurons ; hippocampal microinjection of Ghrelin on rats feeding , body weight , stomach movement . Methods: using fluorescent gold (Fluorogold, FG) retrograde tracing combined the fluorescent immunohistochemical methods discussed the hypothalamic PVN Ghrelin neurons projected to the hippocampus , and hippocampal neurons yuan down hypothalamus PVN projection ; hippocampal nuclei microinjection Ghrelin observed changes in conscious rats feeding , body weight and gastric motility . Results : hippocampus microinjection FG 7 days after the visible hypothalamus PVN neurons of a large number of markers FG and was ipsilateral predominant expression , combined with the Ghrelin fluorescent immunohistochemistry experiments and found that the part under the the hypothalamic PVN FG nerve elements have Ghrelin immunoreactive material expression ; hypothalamus PVN microinjection FG , 7 days visible in the hippocampal CA1 , CA2- 3 area has a large number of FG - labeled neurons , and showed ipsilateral predominant expression . The hippocampal CA1 microinjection Ghrelin , food intake and body weight of rats was significantly increased (P lt; 0.05), gastric motility was significantly enhanced ( P lt; 0.05 ) and showed a significant dose-dependent . Conclusion: PVN- hippocampus , hypothalamus , and from the fiber projection was ipsilateral advantage projection ; invest in hypothalamic PVN Ghrelin immunoreactive neurons in hippocampal CA1 region ; hippocampal CA1 region Ghrelin immunoreactive neurons to invest in the hypothalamus the PVN ; hippocampal CA1 region Ghrelin by the receptor is involved in rat feeding , the regulation of body weight and gastric motility .
