Abstract


In this paper the analysis of progress on the premise of using time series data of 1990-2008 made ??an empirical analysis of the the Xinjiang higher education development and economic growth relationship , and specific studies of higher education to economic growth in the short-term and long-term effects . First , from the two aspects of the development of higher education , the use of the Granger causality test to analyze the causal relationship between higher education and economic growth ; Second, the stationarity and cointegration test data , and on this basis established on the error correction model of economic growth and development of higher education in Xinjiang ; final analysis of the relationship between higher education development and economic growth from the development of higher education structure , specific conclusions are as follows : ( 1 ) the development of higher education in Xinjiang economic growth grid the Ranger reason but Xinjiang's economic growth is not necessarily the Granger reasons for the development of higher education . ( 2) between the scale of the development of higher education and economic growth in Xinjiang was a positive correlation between the presence of long-run equilibrium , although this long-term relationship will be an imbalance in the short term , but in the short - term dynamic process can be adjusted . The quality of higher education development and economic growth was a negative correlation between the two uncoordinated . ( 3) the relationship between economic growth and development of higher education in Xinjiang structure needs to be improved in terms of the development of higher education hierarchy and discipline structure , than to adapt to the requirements of economic growth ; universities geographical structure and form of the structure and economic very suited to the requirements of growth . Finally, in empirical analysis based on the input from the higher education funding , the scale of the development of universities , higher education reform and innovation , development of Xinjiang characteristics , career paths and the government should take active measures to five recommendations .
