Abstract


The philatelic items in this essay involve stamps and the derivative products.Since there are no appropriate pricing models and authoritative conclusions on the issue of stamps, this essay, by analyzing them symbolically and artistically, points out the essence of philatelic items is the paper carrier of symbolic value, and puts forward the viewpoint that financing of the issue of philatelic items is in itself is a symbolic value financing.On this basis, this essay modifies the current asset pricing model, advances some pricing methods, such as the mental accounting model concerning philatelic items pricing, manpower capital investment model (or happiness rating model), social capital investment model. By applying the methods above, this essay illustrates some phenomena concerning the financing of the issue of philatelic items, and then gives a discussion of the properties of philatelic items financing from the perspective of financing necessity, efficiency and externality, optimization of the issue of philatelic items and ex-post evaluating tools and some other optimization strategies.Different from the discussions attaching importance to the investment income of philatelic items, this essay is mainly concerned with the issuing objects of new philatelic items, pointing out that most of the stamp collection behaviors are the investment of manpower capital, social capital and a great many stamp collection behaviors are based on mental accounting budget and cultural consumption of conformity. This perspective is a breakthrough of the limitation of "maintenance and appreciation of collecting stamps", which can explain more comprehensive behaviors and phenomena of collecting stamps. On the basis of analysis above, this essay puts forward the supply-demand model of symbolic value of philatelic items and analyzes its practical meaning.Some external discussions lay emphasis on themes, circulation or issuance ways, while this essay explores the viewpoint of "the issue of philatelic items employ financing of symbolic value", with a deep analysis of the pricing problems from the perspective of symbolism and art, combining theories of symbolism and art with the theories of fuzzy mathematics theories, putting forward the more operative, enlightening and diagnostic tools of optimization and ex-post evaluation, including fuzzy analysis of symbolism, "clarity-uniqueness matrix" and so forth.
