Building energy conservation is a major issue relates to the people’s livelihood and an important component of energy savings, the development of external insulation technology and energy saving materials of buildings is the main implementation way of building energy conservation. Rigid polyurethane foam has excellent thermal insulation performance, is an energy-saving wall insulation materials, will be conducive to building energy-saving 65% implementation target.Conventional rigid polyurethane foam (RPUF) generally use the low boiling point hydrocarbon (CFCS) as blowing agents, however, in recent years these compounds that were found destruction of the earth’s ozone layer are the main culprit, so the original polyurethane foam system must be replaced. Therefore all-water foaming technology has been popular. This paper review advantages and disadvantages of the all-water foaming technique. The effect of major technology parameters, including amount of water and isocyanate index on the foam properties was discussed. In the all process of all-water foaming, the density and compressive strength of RPUF was decreased with increasing the amount of water. But water is too enough to be heart-burned and embrittlement. When the isocyanate index is 1.05, the compressive strength is maximum. Different foaming agent also affect the mechanical properties of RPUF. In the paper, the preparation of rigid polyurethane foam was used physical blowing agent HCFC-141b、HCFC-141b mixed with water and all-water foaming agent. The effects of the different fillers are studied. The result shows that compression strength increased with hollow glass bead content at first and decreased. The effect of different coupling agent concentration on pore structure of RPUF has been investigated with SEM. The thermal conductivity is lowest when hollow glass bead content is 2%, than the therma conductivity of all-water polyurethane foam to reduce the 6.5%. When its adding 2% of glass bead, coupling agent concentration of 1.5%, the compress strength achieve 0.629MPa.Research on nano- SiO2 on the effects of polyurethane foam. When adding 2% of nano- SiO2, the cell is distributed uniform. The impact strength of RPUF with nano- SiO2 improve about 30% comparison without nano- SiO2. Coupling agent modified nano- SiO2, improved nano-silica in the matrix of polyurethane dispersion. When the coupling agent concent is 2.0% and nano- SiO2 is added 4%, the maximum compress strength is 0.513Mpa.
