Abstract

Be naughty is a kind of objective existence for children, and it is one of children’s spiritual characteristics and philosophy. As a special image in children’s literature, naughty children exist widely in children’s literature works both at home and abroad, which has become a MOTIF for children’s literature. As a MOTIF, it flourished in the 20th century, especially in the 1950es and after that for the development of children’s literature in the world totally. And in China, for various historical and realistic reasons, it flourished in the 1980es, and became more and more important in the 1990es and recent years, when more and more people realized the value of it.Children’s literature works which have naughty children as their positive heroes show children’s pursuit of vitality, show children break various constraints and build their own spiritual world independently, and present the charm of vitality which belongs to children’s literature.The essay first probes on naughty children’s cultural and philosophical connotations from several points of view, including the spirit of game, naughty children’s growing up and so on. The essay also draws the outline of historical development of related children’s literature works in China from 1980es until recent years, in order to show the history of Chinese children’s literature’s development from a point of view, in order to give some enlightenments on probing on some theoretical questions such as how children’s literature is influenced by social and cultural development. In the end, the essay probes on the unique aesthetical connotations naughy children indicate, which include revelry, strength and humor, by taking typical images of naughy children in literature works from 1980es until recent years in China as examples.Research techniques the essay adapts include Children’s philosophy, which is on the basis of the theory of beliefsonchildren; Sozialgeschichte, that is to probe into the connection between history of writing on naughty children and social, economical and cultural development; Children’s psychology, that is to probe into children’s spirit of game, their likes for adventure and boaster on the basis of children’s psychology, and discuss some topics like naughty children’s growth which are closely related with children’s psychology.Totally, the essay draws the outline of historical development of related children’s literature works in China from 1980es until recent years for the first time, and gives its own insights and opinions about beliefsonnaughtychildren, which is "uncultivated growing up independently". Also the essay puts forward that revelry, strength, humor are three aesthetic connotations naughty children indicate.As to the practical value of the topic, personality of naughty children accord with disposition of children, which is very valuable to children and mankind too. Naughty children break up kinds of social norms adults establish with their innovation and creativity, naughty children change traditional daily orders and pursue their dreams actively and naughty children build their own spiritual world independently. In this process,a naughty child will grow up into an optimistic, confident, imaginative, creative and independent person, and they will move towards their broad future life and goals with enough bravery and capability. This kind of people will become a positive power in the innovation and progress of society.
