Abstract

The problem of environment is becoming a transnational and global issue. Recently, people of the world keep the eye on Orient because of the more and more severe problem of environment. People hope we could find a good method to deal with the problem from Chinese traditional culture. Professor Du Wei Ming of Harvard considers that the traditional Confucianism has significance of Ecology definitely. A few years ago, he pointed out that the new condition of dialogue was appeared. The Confucian ethics could provide the global civilized dialogue. Moreover, the excavation of the dialogue’s resources is rely on the efforts of public and intellectuals. Therefore, we need to explain the significance of Confucian ecology more and more accurately.As the outstanding representative of the Confucian, Xun Zi looked further than the dominant view—"Unity of Heaven and Human" at that time. He proposed the concepts of "nature and human are different" and "human should use nature for themselves." He pointed out the relation of nature and human is opposite and unified. So they should live in harmony. Xun Zi carried on the ancestors’ ideas, and he was concerned about not only the human’s society, but also the nature outsides the human being. During the research of the nature and humans’ relation, he established his own ideology of Ecological ethics.This thesis bases on the literature. I collected data about Xun Zi’s Ecological ethics by induction. And I summarized the data comprehensively. The thesis introduces Xun Zi’s Ecological ethics. And I combined his ideology with Chinese traditional ecological ethics and Traditional Western anthropocentrism. The thesis researches and excavates the practical significance of Xun Zi’s Ecological ethics in modern times. From the introduction of "Heaven phase points","Days after sight have often", "Heaven coherent", "System with destiny", "Strong this save". People could find out that Xun Zi didn’t separate the human and nature completely, although he hold "Heaven phase points". The purpose of "Heaven phase points" is to achieve "Unity of Heaven and Human" finally. In other words, his objective is the ideal society like "Si Hai Zhi Nei Ruo Yi Jia". In order to find out the practical value of Xun Zi’s ideology of Ecological ethics, and guide the construction of socialist ecological civilization. The ending of the paper comments Xun Zi’s ideology of Ecological ethics.Xun Zi’s Ecological ethics appeared in the ancient. But it contains reasonable factors and eternal values which beyond period and nation. Face to the construction of Chinese ecological ethics and standard system, we absorb and learn from the western ecological ethics. And at the same time, we can’t forget to Respect, cherish, explore and transform the culture of Chinese traditional Ecological ethics. If the culture and the new ecological civilization are consistently. The development of Ecological ethics will be promote faster. Because Xun Zi’s Ecological ethics has profound scientific significance and excellent foresight, it will affect and guide the construction of ecological civilization in modern times. Standing at the intersection of the past and modern times. When we look back traditional technological culture, we should not only see the it’s profound content, but also find out it’s shortage. If we hope construct human’s ecological culture better, we must combine all active results of different Western schools" research. And we should conform and use Chinese traditional Ecological ethics.
