Abstract


The study of foreign language teachers' beliefs in recent years, teacher education research hotspot. In view of the domestic English Student Teachers read the lack of research and reading teaching beliefs in the importance of foreign language teaching, the study was designed to study English Teachers belief in the teaching of reading in education internship teaching practice. Research questions: 1) the three English Student Teachers participating in the survey (in language reading, reading, teaching steps, teachers' roles and teaching materials) beliefs about reading instruction in secondary schools is what? 2) study the Teaching of English Reading beliefs and their teaching behaviors in secondary education internship in which there is a mismatch? 3) because of their beliefs and their teaching behavior does not match? In this study, a multi-case study approach. Through teaching fragment analysis, semi-structured interviews, classroom observation and video auxiliary interview method to collect relevant data of the three subjects. The data collection is organized as follows: First teaching fragment and semi-structured interview data collected according to the first research question in chronological order; followed by classroom observation of teaching practice to understand the research object; final interviews by video-assisted teaching beliefs, explore the respondents The teaching behavior does not match. Data collection time from September 2009 to October, three from Guangzhou University English education professional normal school students to participate in the study. The data analysis results show that: 1) The former coach of the normal college students, pedagogy courses is a major factor in the building of their teaching beliefs. 2) there is there is an imbalance between the study of various beliefs about the teaching of reading. 3) study of teaching practice in the teaching of reading, mainly reflecting the its corresponding teaching beliefs. 4) three normal school students reading teaching beliefs and teaching practice in some places there is a mismatch situation. 5) lead does not match the reason may be that the impact of the teaching instructor Normal College Students' lack of teaching experience, language proficiency of students, classroom discipline or prior classroom teaching regular behavior. The results show that there is a need to strengthen the training of English Teachers in the teaching of reading, and attention should be paid to the selection of educational practice in teaching instructor to provide specialized teaching guide for Normal Students. In addition, teacher educators should help normal college students to clear their own beliefs about teaching and role play to the pedagogy class courses in the formation of Students' Teaching belief system. This paper attempts to understand the English education for students in middle school English reading teaching beliefs and teaching practice, as an attempt to study in order to be helpful to the improvement of English pre-service teacher education. Next covers more subjects, the combination of qualitative and quantitative research methods, longitudinal studies on this issue.
