Abstract

With the increase of Chongqing City, the rapid development of economic construction and opening up, the the Bayu culture and foreign cultural exchanges are increasing. Because the relationship between language and culture are inseparable, translation is not only a bridge for the transmission of information between the two languages, cultural exchanges between the bridges. English is the international language, in order to conform to the trend of the times, the various cultures of the Bayu (including: catering, tourism, heritage, etc.) with a large number of English introduction. Especially the Three Gorges Museum's holdings, most of them with Chinese and English bilingual label. I carefully reading the name of the original and the translation of the relics of the Three Gorges Museum, handle artifacts name translation must convey the original cultural connotation. Accordingly, in a certain extent, when to do the translation culture propagation is more important than the expression of the language information. Language and culture are inseparable relationship determines the important role of culture in translation studies. The naming of heritage contains the different cultural connotations, heritage translation is an important part of culture, are responsible for the dissemination of Chinese culture, the burden of the media world to understand China. Therefore, in order to translate the heritage name and literature, not only need to have a rich heritage of knowledge, but also to have a deeper understanding of the cultural connotation of the cultural relics through the Cultural Differences in contrast, at the same time, in the process of translation, to try to keep these cultures the characteristics in order to achieve the purpose of translation of these relics - outreach. Translation as an act, for the specific purpose. The purpose of the translation of the translator's one important factor is the choice of translation strategies. From the cultural point of view, there are two kinds of translation strategies, naturalization and alienation. The naturalized main purpose language into a home, the use of the target language expression, the convenience of the reader to read and accept. Alienation is the source language for a home, as much as possible to retain the cultural identity of the source language in order to promote cultural exchanges. In the history of translation in the West has a long-standing debate about these two translation strategies. In fact, these two translation strategies in the translation process are not mutually exclusive, but complement each other. So, in the translation of relics, the two strategies have to use, and can not deviate from the one. In this paper, for the purpose of translation, the text of the faithful (interpretation), readers' expectations and promote cultural exchange and development of several aspects of the study shows that, when the translator to do the translation of the relics of the Three Gorges Museum should be based on the need to take appropriate translation method. Translator in the do relics translation process, from beginning to end facing the choice of naturalization and alienation, faced with the paradox of the solution.
