Abstract


The folk custom of the dragon worship of miao nationnality is the custom caused by the fact that people of miao nationnality worship dragon. The content of the folk custom of the dragon worship of miao nationnality include pattern、variety、Cultural meaning、formation and evolution of the folk custom of dragon worship of miao nationnality and the festival of dragon worship of miao nationnality. The dragon of miao nationnality’s variety is colorful, but the looks of the dragon of miao nationnality is relatively simple. In the heart of miao nationnality,everything is dragon. Any dragon they can make as long as they can fancy. The folk custom of the dragon worship of miao nationnality is full of cultural connotations and is important branch of the traditional culture of china. The cultural connotation of the dragon of miao nationnality include header, guardian angel, Arethusa,miaos’people figuring themselves as the dragon, the national culture symbol and so on. This cultural connotation went through a long evolvement. The Miao and Han nationality worship dragon and all believe dragon being header, guardian angel and Arethusa, but Miao nationnality is different from Han nationnality. Though they respected dragon, but they didn’t fear dragon. Dargon didn’t sacred in miao nationnality. Many times, they drive the dragon, train the dragon, teased the dragon and so on. They will punish or kill it, when they confront the ferocious dragon. The dragon worship of miao nationnality rest on original religions section, the properties of dragon worship isn’t totally fix. They contain totemism , ghost worship, fertility cult and so on. The folk custom of the dragon worship of miao nationnality retain witchcraft of primitive religion, but that has no negative meanings,and it has essential distinction with superstition.It has played agglomerating,inspiring,aesthetic and regulating functions etc.It is a masterpiece of imagination of the mankind,a kind of important folk faith and the outstanding cultural heritage of China nation.The folk custom of the dragon worship of miao nationnality have a long history, more than that, the folk custom of the dragon worship of han nationnality and it all derived from dragon worship of Changjiang and Huaihe River’Taihao tribe. until now, it has profound effect on daily lives and production activities of miao nationnality. So the reaearch on the folk custom of the dragon worship of miao nationnality has important theory meaning and realistic value. In this text,the author,using some theories and methods of folklore,in terms of folk custom history,carried on discussing on the questions,such as content,origin,development, nature,function,position,and the meanings of studying of the folk custom of the dragon worship,etc,in the hope of making people have a scientific and intact understanding to the folk custom of the dragon worship. In the practical sense, the reaearch on the folk custom of the dragon worship of miao nationnality is in favour of protecting and developing the cultures of minority ethnic groups and has important meaning to increase its scientific and cultural quality of ethnic minorities, boost ethnic solidarity and social stability.
