Abstract

Objective: To detect different duration of bronchial asthma in patients with chronic functional status of the peripheral airway eosinophil chemotactic factor (eotaxin) level, explore eotaxin as the value of the clinical evaluation of peripheral airway function. Methods: 72 patients with chronic duration in patients with bronchial asthma, lung function is divided into normal group of peripheral airway function (FEF25-75% ≥ 80% and the ratio of forced expiratory volume in 1 second and forced vital capacity in gt; 70%, n = 24), peripheral airway function mild damage group (50% lt; FEF25-75% lt; 80% target FEV1/FVC ≥ 70%, n = 26), peripheral airway function severe damage group (FEF25-75% lt; 50%, and FEV1/FVC < 70%, n = 22). And FEV1 ≥ 70% expected value, row methacholine challenge test. Count for all patients xue cell sorting eotaxin concentration in serum. The results: a small airway function observed FEF25-75% lt; 80% share of patients enrolled in the total number of 66.7%. Peripheral blood eosinophil count results the peripheral airway mild damage group, severe peripheral airway function damage in peripheral blood eosinophil count content were higher than peripheral airway function normal group (P lt; 0.01) peripheral airway function severe damage in peripheral blood eosinophil count content higher than peripheral airway function mild damage group (P lt; 0.01). Third, serum eotaxin the concentration result of peripheral airway function mild damage group, peripheral airway function heavy degree of damage group serum eotaxin the concentrations are higher than the peripheral airway function normal group (P are lt; 0.01), peripheral airway function heavy degree of damage The content of serum eotaxin concentration higher than the peripheral airway function mild damage group (P lt; 0.01). The extent of the higher degree of central airway resistance (PD20) results of peripheral airway function group and peripheral airway function mild damage group, methacholine challenge, increased central airway resistance (PD20) were statistically significance (P lt; 0.01). Eosinophil count and serum eotaxin level, FEF25-75% and blood eotaxin levels peripheral blood eosinophil cell count and serum eotaxin level was positively correlated (r = 0.563, P = 0.0001). FEF25-75% was negatively correlated with serum eotaxin levels (r = -0.735, P = 0.0001). Conclusion: asthma chronic duration decreased peripheral airway function and the presence of small airway disease patients compared to patients with small airway disease, airway inflammation state, serum eotaxin concentration may reflect the changes in peripheral airway function.
