With the network technology and the rapid development of multimedia technology , multimedia communication applications in the network share is growing. Internet video conferencing is one of the main applications of multimedia communications , it appears that people greatly facilitate communication and exchange . Video conference system can be divided into centralized and distributed into two categories. Traditional centralized video conferencing systems require high-performance central server to manage and control , high cost ; recent years there has distributed video conferencing system due to resource consumption, ease of deployment and other characteristics are more and more attention. In this paper, a video conference discusses the key technologies , combined with the characteristics of embedded systems design and implementation of a run on the embedded terminal network video conferencing software . The terminal -based high-performance video codec hardware platform and embedded Linux operating system , and PC-based video conferencing systems, a small size, low power consumption, good stability and so on. The terminal provides a user-friendly interface , users can easily and the other terminal for audio and video communication , and supports a variety of conference control functions, such as rights management, to join the conference , request to speak and end meetings. For traditional centralized video conferencing systems require high performance central server , prone to server performance bottlenecks , limited scalability limitations , combined with the characteristics of embedded terminal platform , using a SIP protocol as the core of distributed video conference control mechanism, through the expansion of the SIP protocol to meet the requirements to achieve a conference control mechanism. Video conferencing signaling control and streaming completed entirely through the terminal , without the need for additional central server for centralized control, which makes the whole system easy to deploy and use. Through testing, the embedded video conferencing terminal can achieve a variety of conference control functions , has a good real-time performance and stability to meet the general needs of video conferencing .
