Abstract


Vocal music (bel canto) was introduced into China during 5.4 Movement in 1919. Bel canto is graceful, gentle, relaxed and natural and at the same time it’s syntactic coherence must be payed more attention. All the characteristics have conquered the whole music world. Now it is accepted as one of the most orthodox performance methods by the vocalists around the world. However the development of vocal music (bel canto) in our country is more slowly. At the beginning of 20th century, because of the social limited and other reasons, many excellent vocal musical singers (bel canto) were unknown. Therefor, their vocal musical achievements and great contributions to China’s musical development were overlooked。Zhao mei-bo, hailed as a living Chinese vocal musical history, was the first Chinese vocalist who studied in Europe, the first Chinese musician who introduced Chinese folk songs to Europe, He was also the first Chinese who won the first vocal prize in Europe. After coming back to China with the honor, he taught and trained a lot of major musicians. And most of them are the most typical of the time in modern China’s music.Following the musician’s vocal musical educational experiece to the exchange between China and Europe and the music education, the thesis studies and analysises his vocal music teaching practice and the vocal musical methodology. Thus we have been trying to find the vocal musical educational context at the modern times in China to make Zhao mei-bo,the musical doyen,keep his proper place in Chinese musical educational history. To focus on his great contribution to the musical field can make our vocal musical instructional theory rich and we also can bring it into the world vocal musical thesaurus.His vocal musical art theory from his whole life will be provided with definite reference and guide for every vocal musical learner, singer and teacher.
