Abstract

Purpose . Applications approximate entropy (ApEn) to research the characteristics of the nonlinear dynamics of the EEG under different physiological status of the healthy elderly . 2 . Observed differences in Parkinson 's disease (PD) patients and the control group EEG approximate entropy , and explore EEG approximate entropy assessment of cognitive dysfunction in PD . Mini-Mental State Examination (MMSE) test method on 31 patients with PD and 31 cases in the control group , the Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) test , the detection and measurement of event-related potentials P300 wave the latency ( P3PL ) collected quiet closed eyes, quiet eyes open, eyes closed EEG mental arithmetic three states , and the use of non-linear parameters approximate entropy of the EEG data analysis . Results 1 . With eyes closed state compared to healthy elderly quiet eyes open all brain regions in the state ApEn were significantly higher ; eyes closed the mental arithmetic state of ApEn in FP1 , FP2, F3 , C3 , P3, P4, O1 , O2, T3 , T5 significantly higher . The PD group ApEn similar trend . 2 . Compared with the control group , the PD group MMSE score significantly lower MoCA score , P3PL significantly longer . 3 compared with the control group , in a quiet close their eyes, the quiet eyes open , eyes closed mental arithmetic three state the PD group ApEn decreased in most brain regions , the difference was significant the sexual brain regions in the quiet eyes closed state is FP1 , FP2, F4, O2, F8, T3, T4, T5, T6, eyes closed mental arithmetic state FP1, F3 , F4, C3, and P3 , O1, T3 , T5, T6, quiet except C4 outer 15 in the open-eye state brain area compared to the control group has a significant difference . 4 compared with the control group , the PD patients ApEn change value in F3 , C3, and P3, and O1 significantly reduced. The all subjects eyes closed , quiet eyes open and eyes closed, most of the brain areas in mental arithmetic three state ApEn value MMSE score , MoCA score positively correlated related with P3PL negative . Conclusion ApEn can be used as an objective , specific electrophysiological indicators assessing cognitive dysfunction in PD patients .
