Abstract


Environmental protection is a hot topic of global concern, the mass media reported inclusion of public sight, and given the public nature of the environmental issues. \This article looks at the environmental news media presentation, function and issue type analysis lays the media coverage of environmental news landscape, and media reports and public environmental relations are discussed. Environmental journalism as a starting point, trying to analyze the status of environmental news reports through the media presents the situation of environmental news, issues and future way out, at the same time explore various issues of media coverage and public environmental awareness is the ultimate goal of this article. First, in the sight of Journalism and Communication, a full scan of the status of environmental communication research, Health issued a study innovation - environmentally news media presents the research. At the same time, also a brief review of the historical context of the environmental movement. Then, explore the types of environmental news media presents: the protection of biodiversity issues - to protect the rare fish of the Yangtze River, pollution-driven agenda - Zijin Mining pollution, the public crises topic - Panyu waste incineration power generation projects blocked; public participation type; role and function of the mass media in environmental issues: monitoring the environment, to provide information, universal access to knowledge, environmental education, social integration, the formation of the concept of public service announcement, advertising, marketing, public space, social participation; mass media how to construct environmental issues one aspect of the problem. Down through three types of environmental issues specific event analysis, further demonstrating the different media reports text is how to build environmental news. Through the above analysis, the summary of the characteristics and problems of environmental news reports, and to predict the future trend of environmental news coverage: news selected hot spots, reported perspective of human culture, green concept fashion, promoting the legalization of the environmental protection. Finally, one of the key issues, this paper explores the relationship between media coverage and public awareness of environmental protection, environmental protection and participation. Environmental protection is a systematic project, involving all levels of the political, economic, technological, cultural, and so on, the mass media is just one part, but on the environmental spread term study of environmental news reporting, worthy of further study and explore space is still very broad. How to form a positive interaction between the media and the public, and ultimately the formation of the force of the whole society to participate in the environmental governance, to improve the environment and ecology, society healthy development, this is a harmonious society, ecological civilization and sustainable development in the pursuit of the ultimate goals.
