In the process of english-chinese translation, English long sentence is each translators have to face problems, this also is one of the difficulties of translation, study English long sentences can help better geographical master-slave relationship, logical relationship, improve the level of translators' translation, therefore how to effectively to translate long sentences, is the problem we have to think about. This article first analyzes the Sino-British differences in ways of thinking and forms and features of English long sentence, listing the structure complex, compound composition, order more changeable and appositive and other mixed four characteristics of parenthesis. Then elaborated the long sentence translation must pay attention to the six principles and follow, played a guiding role in long sentence translation. Finally the author discussed the subtle five translation methods of English long sentences, namely: shun, literal translation, literal translation, insert and literal translation, and a lot of examples to carry on the analysis, the purpose is to help learners of English in the translation of English long sentences and beneficial.
