Abstract


Shimen is a border town located in northern Hunan province. Shimen dialect belongs to Changli subgroup of the south-west mandarin in Hunan. This article takes the adverbs of Mengquan town dialect in Shimen county as its research object, inspected all the adverbs as exhaustively as possible. According to the current dividing method, the adverbs of Mengquan town may be divided into the following six types:range adverb, degree adverb, time adverb, deny adverb, tone adverb and modal adverb. This paper gives the first considering to some characteristic dialectal adverbs, which will be taken as the description and analysis object in the aspects of syntax, semantics and grammar. During the study process, this paper compares with adverbs within the dialect sharing similar meaning or usage. What’s more, it will also make a comparison between the counterpart in mandarin, and other local dialect that belongs to south-west mandarin so as to underline the feature of Mengquan dialect.This article includes eight parts.introduction:The following contents are introduced in this article: The geography and population status of Mengquan town as well as Shimen county; the tone of Mengquan dialect; adverbs of Changli subgroup of the south-west mandarin; The status of the study of Shimen dialect; and finally, the study object, meaning and method of this article.The first chapter:Range adverb. This chapter lays emphasis on the words xa32(下), ts(?)(只)and ts(?)55 s(?)32(只是).The second chapter:Degree adverb. This chapter lays emphasis on the words xau423(好),tci423 tε(几得),x(?)n423(很) and to33(多).The third chapter:Time adverb. This chapter lays emphasis on the words to33 (?)(多儿),nan32(滥), iε55(业)The forth chapter:Tone adverb. This paper focuses on k(?)55(格儿),mo55(莫) and tε55 xuei32(得会)/tε55(得).The fifth chapter:deny adverb. This paper focuses on pu55(不),mε55(没), mε55 iau21(没要).The sixth chapter:modal adverb. This paper focuses on tci55 kan423 tci55(急赶急), pa33 tci(?)32 and pan32 ts(?)423(办子).Conclusion:in this chapter,we summarize the content and methed of the adverb study of the full text simply.
