Abstract


This thesis was part of“Workflow Engine and online graphic Workflow designer system”, which aimed at providing to government department. The architecture of this system was B/S,which provided online graphic process modeling, process monitoring, flow branching, flow gathering and so on. As a part of the system, the fundamental theories and key technologies of workflow engine were researched.The activity network diagram workflow modeling method was analyzed and extended. Finally, the workflow engine based on the activity network diagram was implemented.This thesis first briefly introduced the present situation and development of workflow technology trends.It was also analyzed and studied that the basic knowledge related to workflow including basic concepts about workflow and workflow management system, Workflow Reference Model formulated by Workflow Management Coalition, main workflow modeling method, and so on.Then,the activity network diagram modeling method was analyzed emphatically.In view of activity network diagram’s limited expression ability and actual needs of the project, we used sequential,parallel,synchronized,exclusive choice and simple merge five core workflow patterns and proposed extended activity network diagram modeling method.Meanwhile analyzed and verified the correctness of this method.On this basis,the thesis gave a detailed analysis and design of the workflow engine system containing workflow model schema,workflow engine module and database.Finally, the workflow engine system was implemented based on the .Net platform, used NHibernate persistent technology, C# and SQL Server 2005, and passed the test. This system achieved better results in practice.
